Editorial 5
Editorial 5 is the first shoot where I have 2 models instead of one. The editorials for this shoot is going to be in the last pages of my Zine. This shoot is supposed to be the most “put together” and “lady-like”. Compared to editorial 4 these pictures are supposed to be a lot more cleaner and closest to a serious shoot. The models are supposed to show the stereotypical way a proper woman should behave. The models are supposed to look feminine and put together. I styled them in vintage clothing. The first model would be wearing a 60’s mod dress I thrifted of Ebay and the second model is wearing Vintage Versace with a basic black top I bought from ASOS. I also added stockings and Mary Jane heels to put the entire looking together. Here is the Moodboard for the shoot.

The entire shoot took place at the Rooftop Garden Toilet in Westminster. The toilets had this very beautiful interior that I thought would be perfect for the shoot. I wanted a lot of themes that are 60’s-70’s inspired hence why I thought this place would be the perfect location for the shoot. I also collaborated with two makeup artists who are doing BA at London College Of Fashion and helped me do the makeup for this shoot. I asked them for exaggerated doll eyes with eyeshadow that would match the colors of the toilet. Basically there were two toilets inside the restaurant. the first toilet is the one with a blue themed background and tiles but the second toilet is very pink and floral themed. The plan of this shoot was to take the pictures at the Blue toilet but I wanted to do some experimental shots at the Pink toilet just to see if it matches what i had in mind.

Personally, wasn’t the biggest fan of the setting. It wasn’t a bad background but it’s a completely different vibe than the ulterior toilet. Also the space was very small so I could have only taken full body pictures from the door otherwise my shadow who have taken over the screen. I also don’t like the lighting, especially since i was using flash photography. There was this orange hue that kept taking over the lense when I took these pictures. The following are a few of the pictures taken at the Blue toilet. (These aren’t the pictures selected for the Zine but I just wanted to show a difference between the two locations)

Personally, I like this setting a lot more. The makeup and the outfit really goes with the Blue backdrop. There is more space for me to utilize and the lighting is also a lot better and perfect for Flash photography. it was near impossible for me to fit both of the models in the first toilet but here both of them can fit into the frame. There was also the minor problem with the lighting, although the lighting in this toilet was a lot better I still had to take shots in very specific parts of the room so there isn’t a orange hue on the screen. I also had to take some shots with flash and without (I definitely prefer the pictures with flash and it highlighted the background better).

Here are the different types of presets I edited for the final pictures. i wanted the pictures to be grainy since I wanted there to be a vintage look hence why i distorted the quality a bit in the pictures. I also added more Blue-ish hues on the pictures to remove the slight yellow lighting reflecting on the models in some of these pictures. I liked Preset 3 since it wasn’t to saturated and had the right amount of grains. Also I feel like there isn’t an overwhelming amount of Blue hues in those pictures.
